$17 million has been earmarked for roads to help connect the locality. This includes pedestrian crossing upgrades and the Westwood Drive bridge. Plus, another $2.23 million has been set aside for a sealed road resurfacing programme.

Then there’s $25 million for recreational facilities, such as sports ovals, tennis courts and a pavilion at Fraser Rise. The Melton rugby union and league clubs are also getting $5.9 million towards the redevelopment of their home grounds at Macpherson Park Regional Reserve.

Mayor Bob Turner said the draft budget “strives to ensure the timely delivery of infrastructure, programs and services for our community”. This dedication to the local community is a prime example of why Hillgrove and the Melton area are becoming such a sought-after location for new homeowners.
